2023 Hyogo Prefecture Junior Tennis Championships U15

A few days ago, my mindset and shots weren’t quite clicking, and I was feeling anxious. However, our school generously opened the courts for us in the early morning, and on the day of the event, Coach Murakami rushed to the tournament venue to provide us with detailed adjustments right up until just before the match. Thanks to this, I was somehow able to step into the game as usual.
Thank you very much!

Singles
I aimed for an aggressive style of tennis. In terms of content, I was able to maintain control and dominate the game. Instead of waiting for my opponent’s mistakes, I kept pressing and pushing them with attacking shots from both sides.

My opponent played defensively and relied on a solid passive style of tennis, but in this match, I focused on maintaining my aggressive approach.

Unfortunately, the result ended in a loss, but my coach and those who watch my regular lessons said, “We felt the Ignite (my main school) tennis style.” I was able to demonstrate what I’ve learned in school. In the future, I will work on my physical fitness and improve my precision to continue with this style.

Doubles
In the semifinals, we had the opportunity to play against the day’s top-seeded team. We felt that we played better tennis that day compared to the national tournament.

Our opponents had excellent skills, but we approached the challenge with full confidence. Those who were cheering for us also said, “It was a very captivating tennis match.”

Normally, shots that would be points for us were returned by our opponents, so we were pushed to deliver an even higher level of performance. It was quite challenging, but strangely, it was also a lot of fun.

With this match, the summer tournaments have come to an end.
I participated in middle school tests and events, remained healthy and injury-free, and was able to enjoy tennis in a positive and confident manner, even under pressure. This will boost my confidence for the future.
