challenges, unexpected obstacles, and lessons that made me stronger.
The start of my second year at the Rafa Nadal Academy felt very comfortable.
For students in Grades 11 and 12, the schedule changes from the previous year — tennis and physical training take place in the morning, and academic classes are held in the afternoon.

I was able to move into a spacious two-person room with the roommate I had hoped for, and my training group started at the level I was aiming for. Compared with the beginning of my first year, the start of the second year felt much smoother and more comfortable.
Of course, things didn’t stay easy for long. There were many ups and downs.
In practice, I felt that I was playing well and training at a level I was satisfied with. My coaches also told me that my level was improving. However, the results in matches didn’t always follow — especially in tournaments away from the academy. It was a frustrating period.

My main coach is an excellent coach, but because he also works with several well-known players, there were many days when it was difficult to receive direct coaching from him. Still, other coaches within the same training group stepped in to help guide me, so it never became a major frustration.

Another challenge was my visa situation. Because of changes in the visa system within Spain, my renewal process was delayed for a long time.
As a result, it was not completed in time for my return to Japan during the New Year holidays. I could not take the familiar flight route through Germany that I had originally booked, and instead had to quickly rearrange my travel through Turkey. With delays and even lost baggage along the way, the second half of 2025 became quite a difficult period.
Even so, I managed to overcome those challenges on my own at the airport, and it became another valuable life experience. I will take everything I learned from this and move forward into 2026, continuing to grow and keep pushing ahead.
