The opponent was the strong team, Cerezo Osaka.
It was an away game, and the first half started at a disadvantage with a 0-3 score. However, in the second half, Nojima Stella revived, scoring two points, and then my favorite player, “笹井 一愛 (Sasai Chinari),” entered the pitch. Right after coming on, she dribbled past a defender near the goal and took a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area!
Her equalizing goal, worth its weight in gold, earned us one point!!
After the game, she came out to meet us outside the stadium. Seeing her smiling, it was hard to believe that she was the same person who had just played an incredible match on the pitch. It felt almost surreal.
Inspired by her, I too aim to become an athlete who meets the expectations of many, creates wonderful feelings, and aspires to be a beloved tennis player.
