I sincerely express my gratitude to those who have wholeheartedly supported us, “taking such a high-risk choice.”
I attend “Hibarigaka Gakuen Junior High School,” a private college-preparatory school that is not known for its tennis program, so I honestly didn’t expect to come this far, following a path of both academics and athletics (similar to Ohtani’s dual-threat style).
However, thanks to the genuine support from my coach, teachers, friends, and family, I was able to overcome the challenges and reach this point.
There is joy in victory, but what made me the happiest was that the people around me (coaches, teachers, teammates, and rivals) were delighted with our victory.
I learned later that only 16 pairs in Japan are eligible to participate in this national competition.
